Sophie is bilingual and fluent in Hmong. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. Since entering the mental health field in 2024, Sophie provides compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals across diverse clinical settings.

Sophie’s therapeutic approach is nurturing, collaborative, and grounded in a trauma-informed and multicultural lens. Sophie believes that healing occurs within safe, affirming relationships, and strives to create a space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered. She recognizes the impact of culture, identity, and lived experience on mental health and integrates these perspectives into every aspect of treatment.

Sophie utilizes a variety of evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s unique needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), multicultural counseling approaches, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Sophie’s work is strengths-based and goal-oriented, helping clients build practical skills while fostering deeper self-understanding.

Professionally, Sophie has experience providing individual psychotherapy and facilitating group therapy in an outpatient clinical setting. She also has experience in a psychiatric hospital, supporting high-acuity patients experiencing suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, sexually acting out behaviors, and aggression. This experience has strengthened her ability to remain grounded, compassionate, and clinically effective in complex and high-risk situations.

Sophie is especially passionate about supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, and substance use. Her goal is to walk alongside clients as they build resilience, develop insight, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
