Rachael is a Certified Peer Specialist and Parent Peer Specialist who uses lived experience to walk alongside individuals and families navigating mental health, substance use, trauma, neurodivergence, and recovery. She is passionate about supporting peers in identifying their needs, strengthening self-advocacy, and building lives that feel meaningful and authentic to them.
Rachael draws from personal experience with recovery, ADHD, mental health challenges, and surviving a near-fatal motorcycle accident that resulted in significant physical trauma and ongoing health challenges. Along with training in trauma-informed yoga, breathwork, meditation, and holistic wellness, these experiences shape her understanding of the connection between physical and emotional well-being. Rachael enjoys incorporating movement, nature, creativity, and mindfulness into peer support in ways that reflect each person’s individual interests and needs.
As a parent of a middle schooler with special needs, Rachael also brings lived experience navigating school and healthcare systems and advocating for a child’s individual needs. She brings empathy, humor, curiosity, and a down-to-earth approach to her work.
Outside of work, Rachael enjoys quality time with her son, participating in the recovery community, hiking, yoga, live music, dancing, and nerding out over spiritual and psychological books. She is also active in and supportive of the LGBTQIA+ community.
