Rachael Bergen

ISDE Provider, Peer Support Specialist

Rachael is a Certified Peer Support Specialist who walks alongside others on their recovery journeys, using holistic tools to support recovery from substance use, mental health challenges, and trauma. She focuses on the connection between physical and emotional well-being to help clients manage and balance life’s demands and responsibilities and find joy while doing it. In her work with clients, Rachael draws upon her formal training in Ashtanga Yoga, trauma informed yoga, breath work and meditation as well as personal experience with substance abuse, mental health, ADHD, and recovery from a near-fatal vehicle accident. Rachael believes everyone builds a unique pathway to mental and physical well-being. She enjoys helping peers identify their needs, develop self-advocacy and become empowered. Rachael is passionate about helping others to learn to connect with their mental and physical well-being whether through nature walks, yoga, movement, meditation, music, art and writing. She believes discovering clients’ interests and working together to find new experiences brings peace and happiness. Rachael is empathetic and compassionate with an easy smile and a light-hearted nature. Her son is a middle schooler with special needs, and they love to adventure together, be it through the woods near their house or across the country to Yellowstone National Park. They are also active in the LGBTQIA+ community, supporting friends and loved ones. When not working with clients, you will find Rachael enjoying time with her son and her partner, active in the recovery community, hiking, biking, on her yoga mat, nerding out to spiritual and psychological texts or listening (and dancing!) to live music.
