Jenny Hanson specializes in teaching and practicing sensorimotor skills which can modify trauma responses by attending to the body. She is both passionate and experienced in finding ways to explore how trauma impacts our experience both via internal stimuli as well as how we interact with the world around us. These methods work best with individuals who have some degree of insight into their habitual trauma responses, as well as openness to working with changes in posture, breathing, space, and movement. Other methods Jenny employs frequently include motivational interviewing and meditative techniques. Jenny enjoys working with both adults and children and is a former middle school teacher. She specializes in serving individuals who identify as LGBTQ.
Others describe Jenny as “warm, kind, compassionate, a lifelong learner” as well as “consistent, reliable, patient, and grounded.”
When she is not working, Jenny enjoys playing with her daughter, team sports, boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and violin. She has also experienced great success in sandwich-eating.
